| :if you have no oil pressure then the crank would not rotate for very long. If your gauge is reading low or no pressure and the engine is running fine then it is most likely a faulty oil pressure sensor this ia a 2+2 TT i converted i changed the oil press. sending unit because it was faulty. it was reading 0 after about 1 minute of idling. i changed it out and rpessure stayed constant at the first hash mark if not a tad below. there is a wierd loud rattle that wont go away. this happened after i changed the oil n this is what i did. pulled filter drained oil, cranked it for literally 5 seconds to flush out every bit of old oil. replaced the sending unit at that time, new filter back on and added 3.5 quarts. and within a day or two i hards this noise .. [ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iheklEz8l9I ] i cant ever get an accurate read on the dip stick but previous to the oil change it was perfect. if an oil pump or water pump were to go bad, what is the mode of failure?.... can something have been dislodged and grinding/rattling away in the housing of either pump? is that possible?
